Battling with Your Enemies?

(Book of Deutoronomy)

SCRIPTURE READS: "Do not fear your enemy- instead deliver them unto the Lord and he will inflict proper justice upon them."

This scripture backs the phrase that we have heard many times... "Just Give It To God."
I believe that this is important for keeping your stress level lower and for keeping revenge or self pursued justice in check. This is one of my favorite scriptures because I have lived a situation where this one was very important to me...

MY STORY: One time in my life, there was a group of two or three malicious individuals in my life. These individuals were ones that unfortunately I could not choose to just "banish" from my life. I worked with them, so without quitting my job, I was stuck dealing with it. These people were mean, they talked about me, insulted me, tried to get me demoted at work... and much much more. It got to the point where I would cry almost every day, in the bathroom at work and when I came home. The emotional and mental stress of it was affecting my job and breaking my spirit. So I took the concerns of mine to a Christian friend of mine and she said you have to stop TREADING on it... stop OBSESSING over it... STOP trying to figure out HOW TO FIX IT... you can't change people... so JUST GIVE IT TO GOD. If you pray to the Lord and you trust in him, that he will do right by you, as you are doing right by him... he will assure that they get what is coming to them and you will conquer your enemies without doing or saying anything.
I wasn't quite convinced, although it did sound really good to be able to just "let go" of it like that...
So she gave me a CD, Deitrick Haddon, and had me listen to the song, STAND STILL... (here are the lyrics)

There is trouble at every sight,

Listening to that song, I was moved to keep on living by "christian" standards, doing good by others, kill my enemies with kindness and let go of the anger and resentment that was eating me alive!
By letting go of the resentment and anger and believing that the Lord would resolve it and had already worked it out, I stopped letting them UPSET me... I was no longer made miserable by letting them have the satisfication of bringing me down... and don't you know THEY STOPPED!

So when you are fighting tooth and nail with someone, step back, let go... kill them with kindness and trust that the issue will resolve itself. But others can not make you upset unless you allow them to!!

Obey the Words of Scripture for Abundant Blessings

Deutoronomy Chapter 7
"Obey the commands of the Lord, the word, the scripture, so that you may do what is right to always prosper and enjoy long life."

Deut 7:13-15
"Obey his commands and the Lord will bless you abundantly and keep you from ailments and evil."

I chose to start with this scripture first because it is the reason I have created this blog.
The bible has amazing words of inspiration and guidance. The concept of living by the scripture is just the basic idea of being humane to all and living by kindness, forgiveness and love.

Even if you do not believe that God exists, don't you think that if you live by the lessons of love and kindness as stated in the bible, you will live a longer and more prosperous life? If you do evil, you receive evil consequences. If you do good, others do good for you.

Even if you do not directly believe in the "Lord" or that the words in the bible are necessarily "his commands" - there is definitely good to come out of following the words of scripture as a guideline for your life!

Inspirational Scripture for Agnostics

What is an Agnostic?
Agnostic, is one who is between believing that the existence of God is possible but that there is not enough knowledge to support it. This could be because the individual just does not have enough knowledge about "God" or "Christianity" or it could be because they feel there is not enough "scientific evidence" to support the "theory of God's existence". Either way, knowledge is lacking.

I, myself, am what is often referred to as being "spiritual."

What does it mean to be Spiritual?
One who is spiritual believes in the existence of JESUS CHRIST, as history and science both provide facts that he existed. And because I believe in the existence of Jesus Christ, I read the bible scriptures and try to live by the teachings of Jesus Christ. I do not focus so much on the actual existence of a "supreme being" or "God". I would like to believe there is a supreme being who is watching over me... however... it is neither here nor there. If you live by the Christian code of conduct and the scripture in the bible, you will do right by others, live by sensable guidance and positive outcomes will reveal themselves in return!

Looking at it outside of Christianity, this belief is often simply referred to as "Karma" by some. Do good and good will come to you. Do bad and your life will see the punishment. Christians choose to believe that this "blessing" philosophy comes from their supreme being "God".

After saying all of that, the purpose of my blog is to use the scriptures in the bible to present inspirational guidance, comfort and positive knowledge to others including agnostics, spiritual individuals and Christians alike. I believe that even if you are not "Christian" and if you are "Agnostic", that the bible can simply be looked at as an inspirational book- kind of like today's all too frequent "self-help" books!
